There is an increasing drive towards the use of renewable energy within the UK which is aimed at tackling climate change and meeting the country’s share of ambitious EU targets. One of the principal sources of renewable energy will be offshore wind. The UK has potentially the largest offshore wind resource in the world, with relatively shallow waters and a strong wind resource extending far into the North Sea.
